Have you ever felt like a discount version of yourself? You know on the inside that you can do more and be more, but you just can’t seem to get your momentum going? Do you ever feel like you wear an “Irregular” sticker on you? I know what it’s like to feel broken and like you just can’t get your wheels to spin! The woman with the issue of blood was pretty broken down in her life. She had been dealing with an issue of blood for twelve long years, but when she heard that Jesus was in the city, she decided that by ‘any means necessary’, she was going to get to Jesus for her miracle healing.
No matter how broken you may feel or how irregular, God has called you to something greater. In order to cooperate, you need to obtain a God-Is-Able mentality. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…” See, God is not in heaven wondering if He can perform a miracle in your life, or wondering if he can bring you through this trial. He doesn’t wonder if He can do something. He’s not experimenting. God is able. And not only is He able, He’s also willing. Not everyone who is able is willing. Your sister might be able to give you a loan for a new business, but maybe she’s not willing. God has every resource at his disposal and He is both able and willing to do more than you could ask or imagine. So why are you limiting your possibilities if you’re doing the things He’s created you to do?
Here are a few steps to help you move forward and get ‘unstuck’.
Switch your mindset. A mindset is an attitude, a disposition, a mood. A mindset is habits of your mind formed by previous experience. What is your mindset? How have you trained your mind to respond to life?
Upgrade your mentality. Mentality is a way of thinking, mental inclination, or the sum of a person’s intellectual capacity. You were never called to be normal. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Albert Einstein said, “The significant problems we face today cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.” By upgrading your mentality, you are shifting your belief system to another level. The old standard is no longer sufficient. I don’t plan on living in the land of “okay”, and I don’t go for “same old, same old”. I believe in more. I believe God is able to do more. When you switch your mentality, you switch your life.
Begin to switch your mindset by renewing your mind. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Immerse yourself in who God is, in His Word and what He is able to do. Begin to practice thinking in new ways. When you find yourself thinking, “It can’t be done” or “I can’t” or “They won’t help me”, don’t stop there. Keep digging for new answers and possibilities. Don’t settle for the same-old, same-old. Let your dreams expand your world and they will blow your mind.
