Matthew 6:25-34 NIV
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Hello Friends, I am so happy to share with you the secret to a worry-free life.
Do you ever worry yourself silly? I do! But, I know worry is not God’s best for me, and worry is not God’s best for you, friend.
It’s a beautiful Fall day here in North Carolina, and I am so happy to have made it to the weekend. It is nice to step-away from our overwhelming ‘To-Do-Lists” and think about the goodness of God. As we practice this we will be amazed how worry subsides and the joy of knowing He has perfect control over every tomorrow rises.
Lay your worries aside, and focus on the power of God’s word today. This is the secret to a worry-free life. What an incredible feeling it is to be loved, and cared for by our powerful God. How amazing it is to be children of promise. He is at work – right now, taking care of all pressing issues and demands we currently face.
REFLECT: As we think about our pasts and every circumstance we have faced, it is easy to let-go of worry knowing our futures are safe in God’s capable hands. We are still here-living, breathing, standing-testimonies of His faithfulness to those who put their trust in Him.
RENEW: As we cling to the promises found in Matthew 6:25-34, we will find our minds renewed by the power of His word and our souls running wild and free in invisible pastures of faith. Everything we will ever need has already been provided for us. Yay, God!
SEEK: As we SEEK His righteousness worry has to find another home; because, we have chosen to live under the promise of Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
So…dance in the kitchen, take a walk in the fall leaves, drink in the sunshine, breathe deeper than you have in months. Now that you know the secret to a worry-free life, all you have to do is: work hard, do your best, and let your powerful, capable God do the rest!
Happy Fall, Ya’ll!
